Will good deeds ever be good enough?
Romans 3:27b-28 (NLT), "No, because our acquittal is not based on our good deeds. It is based on our faith. So we are made right with God through faith and not by obeying the law."
Good will never be good enough. Especially with phrases and words like spirit of excellence, class of distinction, greatness, high quality, fine, superbness, supremacy and worth. It is almost as the connotation of good is a standard just above average and as a society we strive for excellence; so there is so much more to achieve. I’ll run myself ragged trying to be good enough for God. Ah, but there is relief, from all of our doings, coming and goings and our striving towards the goal; whatever that may be, His name is Jesus. The name above every name. That takes so much pressure off!

There's such truth..and freedom in your post.
