Can you look back at your life and recall the incredible feeling of love that someone was showing you? I want to really break it down into terms that you can wrap your heart around. Think on this: Was the love you received from a person mature in their relationship with Christ? The look in their eye for you, was it pure adoration? Did you know they knew that God was at work in your life? A gentle spirit of encouragement amidst all life’s pain. Almost as to say, “Go forward, you can do it.”
There is a humongous difference in the love of Jesus Christ and human love. Sometimes we don’t even know how a person mature in their relationship with Christ is loving us; we only know we like it, it feels good. We have heard it said a million times, love them like Jesus would. But what if we don’t know what that is- this Jesus love? Yes, I have been loved by the body of believers that I am celebrating life with. But until the other day I had no earthly idea they were loving me with a heavenly love that only comes from the Father through the Son.
See I thought their love for me changed, but it was I who changed. I had a recollection of how it was once. How what was? Love. Their love for me was always through the intercession of Jesus. Somewhere along the journey I tried to put it into terms of human love. Yes, the kind that falls short. Yes, the kind that sins, harbors resentment, the kind of love that I had been accustomed to my whole life - short of the last nine years of my journey with Jesus.
Many of us desire the idea of love. We spend our lives searching for it through romance, marriage, children, jobs, money; it is unattainable and we wonder where is the real love? A lasting love that only comes from a personal relationship with Jesus. We have to wade through the gray water to drink of the living water. And oh, how the living water will quench our thirst; if we can find the well to draw it from.
John 3:6 (NLT), “Humans can reproduce only human life, but the Holy Spirit gives new life from heaven.” Anita’s version, “Humans can reproduce only human love, but the Holy Spirit gives new love from heaven.”

OH! I get it now!!!
