Luke 15:7 says, "I say to you that like wise there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over 99 just persons who need no repentance" (NKJV) and Matthew 6:10, "May your Kingdom come soon. May your will be done here on earth, just as it is in heaven." (NLT) Well, if there is a party going on in heaven because someone repented (to turn from sin, confess it and move in the direction Jesus has for them here on earth) - then why couldn't there be joy in our hearts because we prayed a prayer of repentance? I don't really know of 99 just persons who need no repentance. That is almost like an oxymoron (sp), isn't it? There are reports of people loading up on Prozac, Zoloft and Xanax because they are sad and joyless; instead if we loaded up our prayer life with repentance and lay it all out there for God to do something with it; then at least a pathway for joy to come in would open up. Because He is willing and able. In Jesus Name, Amen.
